Designer Profile

Lisa Hoskin began designing jewellery in 1992 in the central Italian town of Siena, a medieval village where she lived with her Sienese partner making wine, olive oil and sculpture. While enrolled in language and cultural studies at the local university she conceived and made her first jewellery to sell in a small store in the village.

The innovative and beautiful designs were in high demand and so with instruction from a local artisan she continued to perfect her techniques over the following year.  Her unique process creates the weighted and quality feel associated with the brand.

On returning to New Zealand in 1993 the jewellery sold exclusively with the Zambesi fashion stores and then specialist stores throughout the country.  In 1994 Lisa moved into her current premises at 5 Emily Place in Central Auckland where the workroom remains to the present day.  In 2012 the downstairs showroom was renovated into a retail space which is open Monday to Friday.

Lisa Hoskin Design is one of New Zealand's longest standing fashion jewellery brands which has inspired many others in 25 years of original work. Lisa's jewellery continues to be proudly made in New Zealand.
